Lokesh Dhakar — His Lightbox project provided the JavaScript engine behind the picture viewer used on earlier versions of the site.
PNG Fix in Windows IE — When first switching from GIF to PNG images I became aware of Microsoft's Internet Explorer's lack of support from transparent PNG images. Thanks to this brilliant little bit of JavaScript, it patches how older versions of Internet Explorer load PNG images.
PHP Junkyard — The original website Guestbook was based on this script, with CSS styling adjustments. Version 4 keeps the old entries and stores new ones as JSON.
Microsoft — Version 4 is built with ASP.NET Core Blazor and Entity Framework Core.
Adobe Photoshop — I'm in no way a "decent" Photoshop user and so I don't think I really do it any justice in showing its real purpose or true potential. I believe it's the best graphics editing program available and almost every graphic seen on this site has been created using Photoshop CS3/CS5.
FileZilla — The most popular free Windows based FTP client and its easy to see why.
Mozilla Firefox — "The award-winning Firefox Web browser has security, speed and new features that will change the way you use the Web. Don’t settle for anything less". Taken from their own website and I completely agree — by far the best web browser for any operating system. I've used Firefox for years and obviously is pretty important when making websites.
SciTE (SCIntilla based Text Editor) — A cross-platform text editor written by Neil Hodgson. Lightweight and built for speed, it is designed mainly for source editing, and performs syntax highlighting and inline function referencing for many different languages. Every page on earlier versions of this website was written using SciTE.
Google — Best internet search engine. I'd be screwed without it.
W3Schools — The largest web developer site on the internet, it has helped me learn HTML/CSS/PHP/JavaScript and many other web developemnt langauges and scripting technologies from scratch.
Earlier versions of the site lived on Vidahost's shared Linux servers in the U.K. Version 4 still owes them a nod for years of keeping the carbon fibre online, even if the stack has moved on.
